In the wake of the release of hundreds of Palestinian terrorists from Israeli prisons in exchange for the release of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit last year, some of the freed terrorists have been elected to high office.
Recent Hamas internal elections resulted in the election of senior terrorists Yihya Alsanwar and Ruhi Mashtaha, both of whom were released in the Shalit deal, to the Hamas Political Bureau. Other terrorists released in the Shalit deal were elected to the General Shura Council in Gaza, Israel National News reported.
