Lebanese media is reporting that an Israeli Air Force jet attacked a target in Lebanon on Monday, however the target was a device allegedly being used by Israeli intelligence.
“LBC television station reported on Monday that an Israeli jet detonated a spying device near the southern town of Zrariyeh,” writes Now Lebanon.
The terrorist group Hezbollah, which operates out of Lebanon, says an Israeli plane detonated “an explosive device on Hezbollah’s [telecommunications] line.”
“The device was reportedly planted to eavesdrop on Hezbollah’s telecommunications network,” Israel’s Channel 2 News reported on Monday.
Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s Secretary General, responded by claiming the event acted as proof that Lebanon’s sovereignty is not respected by the state of Israel.
“This is clear proof that the resistance is alive and performing its duty, and it’s clear proof that the Israelis are not yet through with Lebanon, and that it’s still a target of the Israelis and that Lebanon’s sovereignty is being violated daily by Israeli surveillance planes and drones,” Nasrallah said.
The IDF has yet to confirm the report.
