Bulgarian authorities believe that a woman aided the terrorist who attacked Israeli tourists in Burgas July 18.
Reports from Bulgarian media outlets say that a woman aided the bomber and his suspected male accomplice, who used the fake identity of David Jefferson, in their plans for the attack. Investigators reportedly found “biological evidence” from the three at their hotel. According to Bulgarian media, investigators suspect that the woman, whose identity was not revealed, was a contact person who guided the perpetrator in Bulgaria.
According to other European media reports, “Jefferson” may now be making his way to London, where he is believed to be planning an attack on the Olympic Village by using an explosive device which was not used in the Burgas attack.
Bulgarian police on Saturday distributed a police composite sketch of the suspected male accomplice to hotels in Burgas and in the surrounding area. The authorities suspect that the accomplice has ties to the Hezbollah terrorist organization.
