Colorado Jewish Federation Sets Up Fund for Massacre Victims

The Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado set up a fund to aid the victims and families affected in the recent shooting that killed 12 people and injured 58 at a movie theater in the city of Aurora.
“No other community in this country understands terrorism more than the Jewish community,” the federation’s CEO, Doug Seserman, said in a statement.
Suspect James Holmes—who allgedly shot innocent moviegoers at the premiere of “The Dark Knight Rises” July 20—was a counselor four years ago at Camp Max Strus, which is run by Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters in Los Angeles County.
“[Holmes’s] role was to ensure that these children had a wonderful camp experience by helping them learn confidence, self-esteem and how to work in small teams to effect positive outcomes,” the CEO of the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters CEO Randy Schwab told the Los Angeles Times. “That summer provided the kids a wonderful camp experience without incident.”
