In an interview today with Israel’s Channel 2 News, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reacted to the threat against his country posed by Iran’s nuclear program saying that he would not allow Iran to destroy the Jewish state.
“I see a regime in Iran that intends to destroy us and works to destroy us. That prepares bombs to destroy us. I will not allow this to happen. The root and foundation of the Jewish state, things that concern our destiny and our very existence, we do not entrust to others, even our good friends” said Netanyau. “I found expression for this with Obama, that Israel has the right to defend itself from any threat.”
Reagrding his recent increase in taxes the PM said, “I hate raising taxes, I lowered them twice in my candidacy, but now I’m raising them a little. Fifty percent of the population doesn’t pay taxes.”
Netanyahu also addressed other issues including, the army draft, ultra-Orthodox Jews and the withdrawal of the Kadima party from his coalition government.
