Nearly 100,000 Jewish men and women will gather at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Wednesday to celebrate the Talmud and Jewish learning in the 12th Siyum HaShas celebration. Many of the participants have been reading one page of the Talmud a day, finishing all 2,711 pages in seven and a half years, reported The Jewish Press.
The 11th such celebration took place in 2005 at Madison Square Garden and the former Giants Stadium. “After seven and a half years, it’s nice to know you’ve done something for seven and a half straight years,” said Leon Miller, a resident of Teaneck, NJ, according to the New Jersey Jewish Standard.
