On Wednesday, Jewish gymnast Aly Raisman and the rest of Team USA were congratulated by none other than “the Biebs” himself after they won the gold in the women’s gymnastics final during London’s 2012 Olympic Games on Tuesday evening.
Following the routines of her other Team USA teammates, Raisman was the last gymnast to perform and led them to a strong victory against Russia.
“Now that we are Olympic champions…can we please meet Justin Bieber?” tweeted Team USA gymnast Jordyn Wieber on behalf of the team which also includes McKayla Maroney, Gabrielle Douglas, and Kyla Ross.
The 18-year-old pop star’s response was prompt: “CONGRATS to @McKaylaMaroney @jordynmarie2013 @kyla_ross96 @Aly_Raisman @gabrielledoug on your GOLD MEDAL. #BeliebersWinGOLD #Proud.” Bieber tweeted.
He then showed some love for his native Canada by adding “Now time for Canada to win some. #TeamCanada #Olympics.”
