Politico – Republicans are pouncing this morning on a Washington Post story detailing how Obama adviser David Plouffe received a $100,000 speaking fee from a South African company tied to Iran. It’s a solid hit on a top White House aide, though not necessarily the kind of thing that is going to send shockwaves through the electorate.
But the Obama campaign isn’t ignoring the story — it’s raising the ante with Romney-world. In a statement, national press secretary Ben LaBolt accuses the Republican presidential candidate of hypocrisy when it comes to investing in Iran:
