3 Israeli Universities Selected as World’s Top 100

Three Israeli schools have been identified in a list of the top 100 universities in the world.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (53rd), Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (78th), and the Weizmann Institute of Science (93rd) were all ranked among the top 100 schools in the world by the “Academic Ranking of World Universities” list, conducted by researchers at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China
In addition to those three schools, Tel Aviv University made the top 100, specifically for scientific studies. Hebrew University also ranked 16th in the mathematics section.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyhu cited his government’s investment in education as a reason for the selctions.
“We are investing seven billion [shekels] in universities in multi-year programs, in centers of excellence and in reversing the brain drain from Israel, and our efforts are bearing fruit,” he said. “The government under my authority will continue to invest in education – from education in kindergartens to higher education.”
