Images of destruction at a Netivot home in Southern Israel were released by the Israeli Defense Forces, after it was struck by a rocket fired by Gaza terrorists last night.
The rocket struck “the roof above the living room” according to an IDF Spokesperson. Another residence was also damaged by the rocket in the town of over 26,500 residents.
“Since the beginning of 2012, more than 455 rockets hit Israel,” said an IDF release, “Over the past 9 days of September more than 10 rockets hit southern Israel, triggering alarms in the nearby communities.”
The Jerusalem Post reported that “Upon hearing the emergency siren indicating an incoming rocket, a resident in one of the houses took refuge in the bathroom, escaping the blast.”
“I heard a siren, so I got up and went to the entrance of the house, where it’s relatively well protected, I decided to step inside the bathroom, where it’s also quite fortified. And just when I walked in, there was an explosion,” Pini Azulai said, according to Israel Army Radio.
On Sunday Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu promised a response to the attacks, saying, “They paid a price in the past for these crimes and they will pay a price again.”
Seven civilians were injured in Sunday rocket attacks.
