Former Hamas captive Gilad Shalit was spotted socializing and dancing at New York’s trendy new kosher hotspot Jezebel last night, multiple sources told The Algemeiner.
“This was the best night ever, nothing but amazing love for the boys,” co-owner Menachem Senderowicz confirmed.
“He was really enjoying himself,” said a witness, “he sat for a while and people came over and introduced themselves and told him how happy they were to see him and that he was alive and well and enjoying himself.”
“They got him to stand up and dance a bit with everyone, he is still quite frail but nevertheless he enjoyed himself,” said the source.
“The restaurant protected him and didn’t want too many people taking pictures,” the source added.
Shalit was abducted by terror group Hamas as a soldier in the Israeli Defense Forces in 2006, and held for more than 5 years. He was freed just over one year ago in exchange for the release of 1027 terror convicts some of which were responsible for the deaths of Israeli civilians. An extensive interview with Shalit will be aired tonight by Israel’s Channel 10 television station.
The Soho dining spot has been a favorite for the rich and famous since it opened in July and is no stranger to high profile guests. Speaking with The Algemeiner recently co-owner Henry Stimler said, “We do get a lot of celebrities, thankfully, across the whole range, from Rangers players, actresses, politicians, ambassadors, senators, powerful NY players and of course chief rabbis such as Rabbi Yona Metzger.”
