An IDF spokesperson has confirmed to The Algemeiner that Israel has assumed control of Hamas radio airwaves in Gaza.
According to Israel’s Channel 2 news, the broadcasts were replaced with IDF radio playing messages of warning to Gaza’s residents, and announcing another stage in operation Pillar of Defense aimed at crippling Gaza’s terror infrastructure.
“Important notice to residents of the Gaza Strip,” said the broadcast, “Hamas is playing with fire and risking your lives in vain.”
“For the sake of your safety we call on you to obey our instructions and avoid getting too close to infrastructure and activists of Hamas,” warned the IDF.
A diplomatic source in Jerusalem told The Algemeiner that Hamas radio airwaves reach the entire Gaza Strip.
