The Israeli websites for Groupon and MSN were hacked on Monday. The group taking responsibility went by the moniker “Pakistani L33t” and has claimed responsibility for hacking other websites.
On the Groupon website a note was posted that read in part “So, what you reap from that war except the destruction and devastation of your life !! You only made a palestinian generation more stronger, more ruthless and more valor!
“We Muslims are people who love to drink bloods. And we learn that the taste of your blood is delicious !! We swear by ALLAH, we will come to you like hungry lions, cut your bodies, roast your Asses, and rip what remaining of you.”
The note also mocked Israel’s finance minister, Yuval Steinitz, who earlier in the day said that 44 million hacking attempts have been made on the government’s system so far, only one of which has been successful.
At MSN’s msn.co.il address this was posted:
Dr. Gabi Siboni, Director of the Military and Strategic Affairs Program at Tel Aviv University’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) says it should come as no surprise that hacker collectives such as Pakistani L33t are able to hack into private websites while struggling to do the same with the Government’s. “Government sites are more protected and have quick backup and recovery mechanisms. [The] Private sector will be less protected,” he wrote in an email to The Algemeiner.
The hacker collective Anonymous launched its own online attack at Israel over the weekend. In response to Anonymous’s hacking attempts Steinitz said Saturday: “This is an unprecedented attack, and our success has been greater than we anticipated.”
