Addressing a mass rally marking the end of the Shiite Muslim Ashura festival in Beirut Sunday, Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Hassan Nasrallah, called the latest round of fighting between Israel and Hamas a “great victory for Gaza,” according to Ynet.com.
Nasrallah, who spoke via video link, told supporters “Israel, which was jolted by Fajr-5 missiles – how will it be able to endure thousands of missiles falling on Tel Aviv and other cities if it attacks Lebanon? Our campaign against Israel is from Kiryat Shmona to Eilat.”
“To the governments in the Arab and Islamic world I say: Gaza needs not only your visits and love, it also needs your weapons, money and real support,” the Hezbollah leader said.
Making special note of Iran, Nasrallah said, “Day after day, it is confirmed that Iran is an ally of Arabs and Muslims… and this was confirmed during the recent confrontation in Gaza and before that in Lebanon.”
“We once again wish to bless the residents of Gaza, including all of the movements and factions for this great victory. This was a real victory, regardless of what some people will try to claim, as they did following the Second Lebanon War,” he told the crowd.
On Friday Nasrallah said,”The first victory of the resistance was that it prevented the enemy from achieving his goals, the greater victory was that it did not let the enemy impose his conditions, and the greatest victory was that it imposed its own conditions,” he said.
“The resistance, which lost a martyr, was able to fight efficiently (…) resistance movements in the region no longer depend on individuals,” he said, according to Ynet.com.
