During Operation Pillar of Defense Hamas made several bogus claims about their military successes. There was the claim that a rocket hit the Knesset for example, and the claim that they shot down an Israeli military jet.
The Knesset is still standing which is proof enough that the first claim was false, but the inaccuracy of the second claim was less obvious. Hamas TV released video finally of what they claim is Palestinian men pulling the the ill-fated jet from the Mediterranean:
That, in fact, is not a jet at all, but rather a fuel tank, which as the Elder of Ziyon pointed out, “are routinely dropped from F-16s for various reasons. This one was obviously dropped in the Mediterranean.”
