New York Times – Former Senator Chuck Hagel will meet with Senator Charles E. Schumer, a New York Democrat and the most influential Jewish member of the Senate, to discuss policy issues concerning Iran and Israel, Jennifer Steinhauer reports. The White House is hoping that the meeting will advance Mr. Hagel’s nomination for secretary of defense, as many Republicans and Democrats have been hostile about his selection.
