Code Pink, a feminist activist group, is no friend of Israel. In addition to its fervent opposition to cosmetics company Ahava–which the organization contends is an illegal enterprise because its factory operates in the West Bank–it also opposes any confrontation with Iran, whether it be through military or economic means ( Code Pink thinks a regime that does this, this, this and this will willingly give up its nuclear program if they are asked to. If they don’t…Code Pink is threatening to boycott Israel for taking action. Seriously, you can’t even make this stuff up.)
A recent appearance on CUNY’s Independent Sources TV by Nancy Kricorian, who is at the forefront of Code Pink’s protest campaign against Ahava , failed to address more constructive approaches to the Israel-Palestinian issue other than simply boycotting Israel whenever it does something Code Pink doesn’t like. That’s because Kricorian hung up the phone on Hindy Poupko, director of Israel & International Affairs at the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, before a healthy discussion about the issue could commence simply because Poupko said her organization finds “all kinds of boycott extremely counterproductive.”
Kricorian, it seems, doesn’t believe in war OR dialogue.
