Famed chef Shalom Kadosh will prepare the dinner that will be held for US President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the latter’s Jerusalem residence next week. Kadosh, a renowned Jerusalem chef, recently joined the “Club des Chefs des Chefs”, a club for chefs whose members cook for monarchs and heads of State. He was the first Israeli to do so.
Kadosh has cooked for King Hussein of Jordan, Queen Beatrix of Holland, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, and US Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and George Bush. A rarity in the world of haute-cuisine, many of the meals he cooks are kosher. According to Ynet, he has been considered the unofficial chef of Israel’s prime ministers for years.
The menu for the Obama dinner features a first course of ravioli filled with confit of Jerusalem artichokes, filet of red mullet tossed with green soybeans, pink grapefruit and pomegranate sorbet palate cleansers. The main course will consist of roast fillet of beef in aromatic spices, and to end the meal there will be an assortment of deserts. The items on the menu will be prepared from Israeli produce.
