Former captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit spent the “best” part of his years in Hamas captivity watching TV, listening to the radio and eating Hummus, according to new details revealed in an Israeli magazine. The information was gleaned from Shalit’s discussions with Israeli officials following his release in 2011 in a prisoner exchange deal after five and a half years in captivity in the Gaza Strip. Shalit said that he was even able to watch a few games during the World Cup in 2010.
Shalit also told officials he didn’t leave the tank during the operation in 2006 that led to his abduction because he was in shock.
