Politico – Casino mogul and GOP mega-donor Sheldon Adelson calmly defended his company before a Nevada jury Thursday afternoon, during testimony in a breach of contract case that at times became feisty.
Adelson, who used a cane to walk up to the witness stand, punctuated his testimony with off-color and at times indirect responses to detailed questions about the history of his company and dealings with a Hong Kong businessman, Richard Suen, who claims that Adelson’s company, Las Vegas Sands, did not pay him a success fee and his share of profits it agreed to while pursuing a Macau casino license in 2001.
