Bar Refaeli’s Instagram account became a hotbed for debate–and hate–after she posted a note in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day.
“As a grandchild for holocaust survivors and a proud Jew, I remember today the 6 million holocaust victims, May they rest in peace” she posted in both Hebrew and English.
But not everybody was so thrilled with Refaeli’s gesture. One person wrote “kill the Jews” and an overall atmosphere of hostility towards both Palestinian Arabs and Israelis surfaced among commenters. But there were some people who allowed cooler heads to prevail. As one user wrote:” Amazing…we are humans it doesnt metter if we are jewish or arab.”
