Politico – President Barack Obama spent two-and-a-half hours Wednesday night meeting with a group of Republican senators for a discussion that touched on guns, immigration and deficit reduction.
The dinner, organized with the help of Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson, was Obama’s second in as many months in his latest effort to reach across the aisle. It came at the end of a busy day, as a bipartisan deal was reached in the Senate on background checks for gun purchases and as Obama released his 2014 budget proposal.
