Once again a social media account belonging to Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli has become a forum for debate. Refaeli posted a photo to her Instagram account, in honor of Remembrance Day, which began Sunday night and commemorates those Israelis who have died in the line of duty or who were victims of terrorist attacks.

“You israelis since the beginning of time have no land “refer to alquran and bible” and now, you’re running around claimig you own Palestine while you really don’t. Also, Palestine was safe and sound till you decided to invase it. Now you’re claiming you’re looking for peace?! Peace will exist, as soon as you leave our arabian/Islamic lands,” one user wrote.

Another offered a different commentary: “hey the problem actually is that we’ve tried to give back occupied territories in exchange for peace but the Arabs refuse, eg camp David 2000. When they promise peace we exchange their land we captured when they attacked us eg Sinai. We withdrew from Gaza and it was officially recognized as unoccupied but they used it as a bombing feeling to bomb is, they don’t want peace unfortunately , they want to destroy Israel, read Hamases charter. When we captured land btw in the 6 day war we tried to give it back immediately but the Arabs had a policy of no negation and no peace so obviously we then occupied territories.”

Last week Refaeli’s account featured a photo in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day. On that occasion too, her gesture was met with varied responses.
