Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein founded the IFCJ in 1983 to promote understanding and cooperation between Jews and Christians, and build broad support for the State of Israel. Today he is recognized as the world’s leading Jewish authority on evangelical Christians. In Israel, Rabbi Eckstein has served as informal adviser to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, and, in 2005, was appointed Goodwill Ambassador of the State of Israel, with special emphasis on Israel’s relationships with evangelical communities in Latin America.
