Reactions from friends and family to the death of Evyatar Borovsky, who was murdered by a Palestinian Arab in the West Bank Tuesday, have begun to trickle in.

He was a member of the Ar El acting group, which performs in the West Bank, Jerusalem and throughout Israel. “Napo,” as he was known by his colleagues and friends, participated in therapeutic psychodrama, which incorporates role-playing and improvisation in an effort to enable others to overcome traumatic experiences, Israel National News reported.

Borovsky’s mother told Israeli media in an interview that her son had just moved to the area where he ultimately met his death.

“He was very happy when he moved there,” she said. “He bought a home in Yitzhar only a few months ago. We were afraid to go there. Every time something happened, we called to find out.”

One friend described him as “one of the most talented and funniest people”  and said that though most members of the acting troupe were not residents of the West Bank, it was important to Borovsky as an intellectual to be a part of the theater culture.

Another friend said that “art was his soul,” adding that he wanted to help people who were suffering through theater and comedy.
