Jerusalem-born American actress Natalie Portman is tired of being typecast as “The Soulful Jewess” she revealed, in a an interview with Marie Claire Magazine.

“Like, every Jewish role comes to me,” she tells her interviewer.

“Even now, when everyone from Mila Kunis to Scarlett Johansson is of the faith?” she is asked.

“I look more Jewish than Scarlett,” Portman deadpans.

Portman, who won an Oscar for her role in Jewish director Darren Aronofsky‘s ‘Black Swan’, is described by the magazine as “the only Hollywood A-lister who speaks authoritatively about Israeli literature and microfinance while simultaneously using ‘like’ as a verbal comma.”

Lest she be criticized for her comments, the actress, doesn’t flee from her roots, as she’s preparing to direct her first feature film, ‘A Tale of Love and Darkness,’  based on the novel by Israeli writer Amos Oz.

Portman plans to cast mainly Israeli actors, herself included, and film it in the city of her birth.
