Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Gantz to Meet Italian, German Counterparts in Europe

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Binyamin “Benny” Gantz will meet his Italian and German counterparts in an official four-day visit to Europe beginning today.
In a statement, the IDF said the visit will focus on joint security and defense challenges, security assessments of the Middle East and military cooperation.
Lt. Gen. Gantz will meet Chief of Defense Admiral Luigi Binelli Mantelli in Italy and then travel to Germany to meet Four-Star General Volker Wieker, Chief of Staff of the German Armed Forces, who has formally toured Israel several times with Lt. Gen. Gantz.
In Berlin, Lt. Gen. Gantz will address a Holocaust remembrance memorial at the Platform 17 Memorial at Grunewald Station. He will also visit the Wannsee Villa, where the “Final Solution” was declared at the Wannsee Conference in 1942.
