JNS.org – Israeli security forces and police shut down two suspected Hamas offices in eastern Jerusalem on Thursday.
A statement from Israel’s security force, the Shin Bet, said its agents shut down “two Jerusalem offices, from which the Hamas terror organization had been conducting actions.”
Israeli security forces said that the offices belonged to Al-Quds Development and Amara al-Aqsa, two charities based in the northern Israeli cities of Umm al-Fahm and Nazareth, AFP reported.
The Al-Quds Development office had originally been shut down in 2010 after it was discovered the office was working with Hamas. The Shin Bet said Amarat al-Aqsa was also supporting activities for Hamas that “led to violence against visitors and security forces on the Temple Mount.”
