Farouk Qaddumi, former head of the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s Political Bureau, said a shared hatred of Zionism bound the PLO leadership to Nazism, in an interview with Russia Today TV earlier this month. His comments were translated and re-broadcast by The Middle East Media Research Institute, MEMRI.
When asked if the PLO was sympathetic with Nazi Germany in World War II, Qaddumi responded that members of the PLO “were enthusiastic supporters of Germany.”
To clarify, the interviewer asked him, “You supported Hitler and his people?”
“Germany, yes,” Qaddumi responded. “This was common among the Palestinians, especially since our enemy was Zionism, and we saw that Zionism was hostile to Germany, and vice versa.”
The PLO also allowed a Nazi radio broadcast to be aired, he said.
