Guests invited to an exclusive New Year’s Eve party hosted by Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli, found themselves denied access by police due to a terror threat, Israel’s Channel 2 reported.
The prestigious party, which Refaeli hosts annually together with her friend, nightlife personality Nadav Shatzar, took place at Tel Aviv’s Otto bar. But as guests began to arrive at 10:30 pm Israeli police identified a suspicious package near the entrance to the bar and within moments police sappers arrived and cordoned off the area.
Refaeli herself quickly entered the bar together with her brother and was unable to exit as her high profile guests that began to arrive were turned away. Police dispersed all those that had gathered including a number of photographers out of fear for their lives, Israel’s Walla reported.
The evening ended happily however when after an hour the area was deemed safe and the guests were allowed to return to enter the party. The bash went on until the wee hours of the morning.
Surely this is a party that she will not forget for a long time, Channel 2 said.
