The lives of a heavily pregnant Gaza resident and her twin babies were recently saved at Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center, Israel’s Channel 10 reported on Tuesday.
The patient, identified only as ‘H’ in the report, was rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe internal bleeding. Once at Rambam, she underwent an emergency C-section in an effort to save the lives of her unborn children.
Following the delivery of a healthy baby boy and girl, ‘H’ remained unconscious for over two days and the new mother’s family feared the worst. She soon regained consciousness and immediately notified her kin back in Gaza.
In an interview following her recovery ‘H’ said, “Before I woke up and contacted my family, they thought I hadn’t survived. They were sure I was dead.”
Everyone is now waiting to “meet and hug” the newest additions to the family, ‘H’ said.
Cleared for release from the hospital, the grateful mother parted company from the medical team at Rambam that saved her and her children saying, “This is the happiest day of my life.”
