An Israeli soccer player was tackled brutally during a match on Sunday, leaving him with a broken leg.
Footage of the collision posted to YouTube circulated quickly, attracting a cool 90,000 views in under 24 hours.
The incident took place during an Israeli Premier League match between Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa.
The victim, Rafi Dahan, was rammed by Spaniard Rubén Rayos who came in high and hard, slamming Dahan on the side of his knee and crushing the lower part of his right leg. Dahan fell to the ground in excruciating pain as a paramedic rushed to his side on the field. He was then carried away on a stretcher.
Following the foul, a fight broke out between the players on the field.
“Rayos tried to end my career… I will never forgive what he did to me,” Dahan later said, according to 101 Great Goals. “It’s a crime.”
Bnei Yehuda was leading 2-1 at the time of the incident but Maccabi Haifa equalized in the 96th minute for a 2-2 final score.
Rayos is likely facing a long ban and Dahan an extended injury layoff, according to the Bleacher Report. The Bnei Yehuda player will also have to postpone his wedding, which was supposed to take place in three weeks.
