Actress Says Homeless Man Rejected Her Food Gift Because it Wasn’t Kosher

Actress and singer Taryn Southern said a Los Angeles homeless man declined her food gift on Tuesday because it wasn’t in line with his religious dietary requirements.
“I just bought a homeless man a sandwich (per his request) but he gave it back to me b/c he’s kosher and it had cheese on it. #LA,” Southern vented on Twitter.
Southern’s Twitter followers mostly saw humor in the incident. One implied that the kosher kerfuffle was typical for Los Angeles, writing, “lmaoooo so La.”
Another commenter suggested to Southern that the destitute man may have refused the sandwich because he was observing Passover. The Jewish holiday, which ended Tuesday night, has its own strict dietary rules.
Southern is also a correspondent for Discovery Channel show Naked After Dark.
