Abraham’s Tent, a Jewish hostel in Jerusalem, was victim to vandals who marked their highly visible sign, located across the street from Israel’s Knesset, with a swastika on Monday, Holocaust Remberance Day.
Rabbi Yosef Eichenblatt, director of Abraham’s Tent told The Algemeiner: “I “‹moved to Israel two years ago and “‹live on one of the main intersections in Jerusalem, across the road from the Knesset.”
“Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu drives by my house on a daily basis as do all “‹diplomats “‹and “‹heads of state visiting Israel,” he said about the visibility of the sign, adding, “I use this opportunity to advertise for my organization and have placed a sign on the gate of my house which has great exposure to the intersection.”
“I was shocked when I walked out of my house and saw a swastika on the Abraham’s Tent sign,” the rabbi said. “I have no idea who could do this or why someone would do something like this in the capital of Israel, the heart of the Jewish people, the center of Jerusalem.”
Abraham’s Tent’s mission is to offer young people visiting Israel ways to connect with their tradition and Jewish identity.
