Scooter Braun to Justin Bieber: I’m Your Favorite Jew After Jesus
by Shiryn Ghermezian
Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, joked on Monday that he is the pop star’s most beloved Jew after Jesus.
“Im still your favorite jew after JC : ),” Braun posted on Twitter, in a message addressed to the Boyfriend singer and New York City Pastor Carl Lentz.
The post came in response to Bieber’s surprise Twitter release of a new track entitled We Were Born for This. The singer followed up shortly thereafter with a link to a 1 hour YouTube video of a sermon by Lentz entitled I Was Born For This, possibly an inspiration for the song.
“Love the positivity u both bring to the world,” Braun also tweeted at Bieber and the pastor.
Also on Monday, Braun posted a graphic on Instagram commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day. The image showed a yellow “Jude” star under the headline, “We Remember the Six Million Jews Who Died In The Holocaust.”
Braun captioned the picture, “I’m the grandson of survivors of the camps. We will never forget. #holocaustrembranceday. Proud of who I am and where I come from.”
He also quoted famed philosopher George Santayana, who said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
