JNS.org – Rosh Hashanah in late April? The Jewish calendar is known to fluctuate, but is that possible?
No. Instead, the shofar-blowing pictured below is part of Tuesday’s “100 Shofars Rally” in New York City that called out the inclusion of what protesters call “pro-BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) groups” in the annual Celebrate Israel Parade, which is organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of New York and supported by the UJA-Federation of New York.
In question are three groups—Partners for Progressive Israel, the New Israel Fund (NIF), and B’Tselem—who are accused of funding and promoting the BDS movement against Israel, but all deny that allegation.
Pictured above are Zionist Organization of America National President Morton A. Klein (left) and Richard Allen, head of JCCWatch.org. Those two organizations were among the 21 sponsors of the rally—a group calling itself the “Hear O Israel Coalition.”
