JNS.org – In the wake of Israel’s Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism, Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) has highlighted another case of Palestinian Authority (PA) representatives honoring terrorists who have killed Israelis.
PMW shows that the PA has given a military funeral to Izz Al-Din Al-Masri, a suicide bomber who detonated himself in a Sbarro pizza shop in Jerusalem in 2001, killing 15 people. Seven of the attack’s victims were children, and five members of one family were killed.
PA TV called Al-Masri a “martyr” and described the terrorist’s funeral as a “wedding” to 72 virgins in paradise. Meanwhile, Hamas’s Al-Aqsa TV stated, “Izz Al-Din Al-Masri ascended to paradise in a martyrdom-seeking operation he carried out in the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem, where he gave the Zionists a taste of humiliation after killing 19 Zionists and wounding dozens… The citizens expressed their pride in Izz Al-Din’s heroism, along with the thousands who gathered to accompany him on his final journey, and they did not forget all those who played a role in this operation.”
Other examples of the Palestinian media’s anti-Israel rhetoric have been compiled by PMW here.
