William Adams, known as Will.i.am, the rapper, singer, songwriter and producer from hip hop group Black Eyed Peas, on Monday met with five Israeli start-up technology companies that he’s considering buying stakes in after a recent windfall when the headphones company Beats by Dr. Dre, the rapper and Adams’ friend who brought him in as an early investor, was acquired by Apple last week for $3.2 billion.
According to Israeli business daily Globes on Tuesday, the music impresario met with interactive sheet music app developer Tonara, crowd-styling fashion platform WiShi, guster, a night life market place, fashion series games developer Fashioholic, and Replay Technologies.
He got to know the Israeli start-ups in the Tel Aviv offices of accounting firm Deloitte Brightman Almagor Zohar.
Tal Chen, head of the firm’s High-Tech Group said, “We are working for global cooperation in this sector between Israeli companies and Fortune 500 companies worldwide and in North America in particular.”
