A growing bevy of Israeli stars and sports figures are signing on to a Twitter hashtag campaign calling for the return of three Israeli youths kidnapped, Israeli authorities say, by Palestinian terror group Hamas.
According to latest reports, Hamas abducted the three, Eyal Yifrach, 19, Gilad Sha’ar, 16, and Naftali Frenkel, 16, (the last, an American citizen), as they were waiting at a hitchhiking post near the Israeli community of Alon Shvut in the Gush Etzion region, south of Jerusalem late Thursday night.
Israeli model Natalie Dadon is among those who are taking part in the campaign.
Under a photo of her holding a sign reading “Peace Partner? Prove It!, ” Dadon, wrote, “…I got a slap in the face that reminded me that I am an Israeli.”
Popular singer Shai Gabso also joined in, posing with a photo of himself, hold his hand up with each of the words written with a marker on his fingers, adding the word “#peace.”
Legendary studio guitarist Avi Singolda posted a photo of himself with the hashtag written on a piece of paper stuck between the strings of his guitar.
Israeli basketball player, Omri Casspi, of the Houston Rockets, posted an Israeli flag with the hashtag and a sign reading “Am Yisrael Chai!” (“The people of Israel live!”) on his Facebook page. He also added a traditional ancient Hebrew prayer for the release of captives in text below the photo.

Meanwhile, on Saturday and Sunday evening, tens of thousands of Israelis packed into the Western Wall plaza for a mass prayer rally, with similar planned and spontaneous gatherings taking place in Tel Aviv and in other cities and communities throughout the country.
Israeli security officials believe the trio are being held somewhere in the southern West Bank, and flooded the area with thousands of crack troops and intel-gathering assets in a massive effort to find and free them.
So far, at least 80 suspects are in custody, among them senior Hamas official Hassan Yousef.
Pointing out that “The IDF is thoroughly familiar with Hamas’ infrastructure in Hebron,” a spokesman noted that “Those involved in the kidnappings were prisoners in Israeli institutions and were released.”
