JNS.org – After months of relative calm in the southern Israeli city of Sderot, 13 rockets were fired from Gaza into the area over the weekend.
“The residents of Sderot are not discouraged by the despicable, cowardly actions of terrorists, who fire rockets from Gaza into populated areas,” Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi said Saturday, according to Israel Hayom. “We are standing strongin efforts to give full support for the prime minister, defense minister, and IDF to respond forcefully.”
One rocket scored a direct hit, setting a massive fire at a paint factory. “I was at the synagogue with my two children when weheard the Color Red early warning siren and a massive explosion right afterward,” said David Ohayon, a resident of Sderot. “When we left, we saw the enormous flames and thick black smoke coming from the factory.”
