JNS.org – As Israel continues battling the barrage of rockets fired from Gaza, reports indicate that a rocket was also fired at the Jewish state from Lebanon early on Friday. The rocket hit Metula, a village in the Upper Galilee. There were no fatalities.
Maj.-Gen. (res). Amos Gilad, director of political-security affairs at the Israeli Defense Ministry, told the Israeli Channel 2 television network that the rocket was not fired by the Lebanon-based terrorist group Hezbollah, but by a different and smaller radical organization.
Lebanese authorities said that they have arrested a suspect in connection with the rocket fire. According to the Beirut-based Daily Star newspaper, security forces said that the suspect’s car had blood stains matching traces of blood discovered at the rocket’s launching site. The suspect may have been injured in the launching of the rocket, according to the Jerusalem Post.
