Jewish Actress Scarlett Johansson Gives Birth to Baby Girl

Jewish actress Scarlett Johansson and her fiance Romain Dauriac welcomed their first child on Thursday, a baby girl named Rose.
A representative for the couple said that mother and child are doing well and that the family is seeking privacy and do not want their daughter to grow up in the public eye, The Associated Press reported.
Johansson, 29, and Dauriac, 31, began dating in 2012 and got engaged in August 2013. The Captain America: The Winter Soldier star has previously said she doesn’t want to “rush” getting married because “being engaged is an exciting time to enjoy and to really savor.”
The couple sparked rumors they were expecting a child together in March, three months after Johansson revealed that she wants to have a family.
“I would like to have my own family, that would be nice,” Johansson, a spokesperson for the Israeli company SodaStream, said at the time. “They say it’s never the right time and I am sure that’s true, but I think you have to plan it like anything else. At some point it is something I look forward to.”
Johansson was previously married to Green Lantern actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 until 2011.
