For this year’s New York Fashion Week, top Israeli clothing designer, Alon Livne, brought along a friend: up-and-coming shoe designer Shani Laks, Israel’s Channel 2’s FashionFoward reported.
Livne, who has dressed Lady Gaga, and a who’s-who of Hollywood stars, and this year went for a “post-modernist” look, said, “I turned to the talented shoe designer, Shani Laks, and together we created shoes that match the color scale of the collection: gray, lavender, black and white.”
For her part, Laks said, “I was really nervous, since we didn’t know who the models would be, and all the shoes were size 40-41. You can always pin the dress on the model, but with shoes, the size is the size.”
Livne, pointed out that, “in every collection, I look for new ideas in accessories,” as to why he chose Laks.
“We focused on special shoes that would complete the look and furnish the tone,” Livne noted.
