Jerusalem Post – The announcement by Sweden’s new Prime Minister Stefan Lofven that his country will recognize the “state of Palestine” harms the peace process because it creates unrealistic expectations among the Palestinians that they can reach their goals without having to negotiate, senior diplomat Aviv Shir-On told the Swedish ambassador on Monday.
Shir-On, the ministry’s deputy director-general in charge of western Europe, summoned the ambassador, Carl Magnus Nesser, to protest the remarks the newly elected Social Democratic prime minister made in his inaugural address to parliament.
