Friends of the IDF Raises More Than $33 Million at California Gala

JNS.org – A record of more than $33 million was raised at the annual Friends of the Israel Defense Forces Western Region Gala, held Thursday in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Top donations included $9 million from Larry Ellison, co-founder and chairman of Oracle Corporation; $5.2 million from brothers Maurice and Paul Marciano of Guess Jeans; $5 million from philanthropists Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson; $3.6 million from the event’s chair, Israeli-American businessman Haim Saban; and $2 million from Steve Tisch, chairman and executive vice president of the New York Giants.
Celebrities who attended the gala included Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Barbra Streisand, Pamela Anderson, and Ricky Martin.
