After a two-and-a-half-year courtship, Bar Refaeli, 29, and her beau, Adi Ezra, 40, have announced they are tying the knot, Israel’s Ch. 2 News reported Wednesday.
Insiders told Ch. 2 that, while Adi didn’t pop the question while kneeling, the couple are planning a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony under a canopy.
“He asked her if she wanted to get married and she said yes,” a source said, adding that “They do not want to make a big deal out of it. They are in love and that’s enough for them.”
The two made their decision very recently, but were very careful to keep the big news under wraps: “They didn’t tell anyone; it’s their thing, and they only shared the news with those close to them.”
News of the marriage comes after a hard year between the two, personally, and in the media, over reports of Rafaeli’s connection to rock star Mick Jagger.
Ezra was reportedly humiliated by the gossip, and the two separated after a fight, but the source cited by Channel 2 contended that the reports were mistaken.
“The two had an argument – like between any couple. It is only those ‘good souls’ who wanted to separate them,” the source said.
The two met via mutual friends in February, 2013. In November, they decided to share an apartment in Tel Aviv’s prestigious W project near Rafaeli’s former digs.
A date and location for the wedding were not announced.
