ADL Offers $2,500 for Information on UC Davis Swastika Case

The Anti-Defamation League is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest or conviction concerning the swastikas that were spray-painted on a University of California, Davis Jewish fraternity house, The Sacramento Bee reported on Tuesday.
The Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi) off-campus house was vandalized with two swastikas sometime between early on Saturday, according to Nathaniel Bernhard, vice president of the UC Davis AEPi chapter. Police spokesman Tom Waltz said no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made as of yet.
UC Davis police are treating the weekend vandalism as a hate crime. UC Davis Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi called the act “repugnant and a gross violation of the values our university holds dear.”
The vandalism occurred a short time after the Associated Students of UC Davis passed a resolution on Jan. 29 asking the University of California to divest from companies that have ties to Israel. The resolution was approved on an 8-2 vote. Two student senators abstained.
