Philanthropist and head of the Community Security Trust
British philanthropist Gerald Ronson heads the Community Security Trust (CST), a model organization that protects Jewish communities across Britain. CST, which celebrates Britain’s diverse and vibrant Jewish community in the United Kingdom, also seeks to guard its many achievements from the external threats of bigotry, antisemitism and terrorism. To this end, in March 2014, Ronson boldly singled out Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters, a BDS supporter, as being anti-Israel. At a London dinner held by the charity – the prestigious audience included British politicians Ed Miliband, Dominic Grieve and Ed Balls, and Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis – Ronson alluded to the controversial inflatable pig, emblazoned with a Star of David, which Waters floated during recent concerts.
