Vladimir Sloutsker
President of the Israeli Jewish Congress
During Operation Protective Edge, Vladimir Sloustker, president of the Israeli Jewish Congress (IJC), sounded a crucial alarm before Knesset members and European foreign dignitaries. IJC represents the Jewish community of Israel in relation to Diaspora Jewry, mainly European Jewish communities and promotes the principle of Israel as the Jewish state. “Never before since the Holocaust, have we seen such a situation as today,” Sloustker warned, referring to the European-wide anti-Israel demonstrations, some of them generating violence and vile rhetoric. “We are potentially looking at the beginning of another Holocaust now,” the former head of the Russian Jewish Congress and former vice chair of the European Jewish Congress continued, adding that antisemitic occurrences will “only grow in scale across Europe.”
