JNS.org – Following the terrorist shooting that killed 37-year-old Jewish volunteer security guard Dan Uzan at a synagogue in Copenhagen, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday told Denmark’s Jews that they have a “home” in Israel.
“Of course, Jews deserve protection in every country, but we say to Jews, to our brothers and sisters: Israel is your home,” Netanyahu said. “We are preparing and calling for the absorption of mass immigration from Europe. I would like to tell all European Jews and all Jews wherever they are: ‘Israel is the home of every Jew.'”
Netanyahu addressed similar remarks to French Jewry after January’s series of Islamist terror attacks in Paris.
“We send our condolences to the Danish people and to the Jewish community in Denmark,” the prime minister said Sunday. “Jews have been murdered again on European soil only because they were Jews, and this wave of terrorist attacks—including murderous antisemitic attacks—is expected to continue.”
